Each tour includes special featured stories and a custom guided route led by our professional museum staff, who get to highlight their favorite facts and collections around our town and farm.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead1\">The Roaring 20s: Life in Small Town America<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\">June 27<\/h3>\n<h3 data-pasted=\"true\">10AM-11:30AM<\/h3>\n<p>Everybody\u2019s seen the glamorous Hollywood version of the 1920s \u2013 flappers, champagne, fast cars and shorter skirts \u2013 but what was daily life REALLY like in America? Explore real life in a Kansas City streetcar town, from their jobs and families to their clothes and what they\u2019d do for fun! Each tour includes special featured stories and a custom guided route led by our professional museum staff, who get to highlight their favorite facts and collections around our town and farm.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead1\">Technology in 1920s America<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\">July 11<\/h3>\n<h3 data-pasted=\"true\">10AM-11:30AM<\/h3>\n<p>Life is moving fast in America \u2013 it seems like technology is changing by the minute! Explore all the new inventions around our 1920s town, from telephones and electricity to automobiles, gas stations, and canned food, and how people in America were adapting! Each tour includes special featured stories and a custom guided route led by our professional museum staff, who get to highlight their favorite facts and collections around our town and farm.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead1\">Segregated America: Life in 1920s Kansas<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\">July 25<\/h3>\n<h3 data-pasted=\"true\">10AM-11:30AM<\/h3>\n<p>150 years after America declared their independence and 60 years after the end of slavery, the nation still had a great deal of work ahead to achieve real equality. On this tour, we\u2019ll explore life for different families in 1920s Shawnee \u2013 Black Americans, new immigrants, Catholics, indigenous Shawnee \u2013 they all worked to overcome challenges and help their children thrive, and our staff will help you explore the personal stories the Museum is researching!<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"subhead1\">Feeding America: 1920s Truck Farming<\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"subhead2\" role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\">August 8<\/h3>\n<h3 data-pasted=\"true\">10AM-11:30AM<\/h3>\n<p>What is Truck Farming? Is it a farm that grows trucks? On this tour, you\u2019ll find out! Explore the farming industry that fed Kansas City\u2019s industrial revolution and sent food across America!
