Explore real life in a Kansas City streetcar town\, from their jobs and families to their clothes and what they’d do for fun! Each tour includes special featured stories and a custom guided route led by our professional museum staff\, who get to highlight their favorite facts and collections around our town and farm. \nTechnology in 1920s America\nJuly 11\n10AM-11:30AM\nLife is moving fast in America – it seems like technology is changing by the minute! Explore all the new inventions around our 1920s town\, from telephones and electricity to automobiles\, gas stations\, and canned food\, and how people in America were adapting! Each tour includes special featured stories and a custom guided route led by our professional museum staff\, who get to highlight their favorite facts and collections around our town and farm. \nSegregated America: Life in 1920s Kansas\nJuly 25\n10AM-11:30AM\n150 years after America declared their independence and 60 years after the end of slavery\, the nation still had a great deal of work ahead to achieve real equality. On this tour\, we’ll explore life for different families in 1920s Shawnee – Black Americans\, new immigrants\, Catholics\, indigenous Shawnee – they all worked to overcome challenges and help their children thrive\, and our staff will help you explore the personal stories the Museum is researching! \nFeeding America: 1920s Truck Farming\nAugust 8\n10AM-11:30AM\nWhat is Truck Farming? Is it a farm that grows trucks? On this tour\, you’ll find out! Explore the farming industry that fed Kansas City’s industrial revolution and sent food across America!
